He played in the 2002 & 2004 Under-19 Cricket World Cup for the West Indies which was held in New Zealand and Bangladesh and two years later he made his ODI debut against Pakistan at Faisalabad on 7 December 2006.
He scored 282 in a first-class match for West Indies A against England in January 2009, and was selected to make his Test debut in the fifth Test of the series that followed, scoring 24 and eight as the West Indies secured a series-clinching draw at the Queen's Park Oval, Trinidad.[1]
His uncle is former West Indian Test cricketer Phil Simmons.

He won his first full cap in December 2006 - making a second-ball duck - after a productive domestic season in 2005-06 and a successful A-team tour of England later in the year. On that trip he thumped an unbeaten 108 off 122 balls in a one-dayer against the touring Pakistan side. When England toured the Caribbean in 2008-09, he demonstrated his credentials in the longer version of the game, with a career-best 282 against England A at St Kitts. An excellent fielder and an occasional wicketkeeper, he is a nephew of former Test cricketer Phil Simmons.
